Life throws you curve balls sometimes, you think you have a routine down and then that changes. The great thing about kids is that they seem to know when you have things figured out and then change it up on you so you are left guessing again at what they are going to do. We are trying to allow Leya to set her own schedule since there is so much craziness in her life right now with Sammy still needing so much of our time. She does for the most part tell us when she is ready to go to bed and when she wants her bottle and when she wants to eat. She also tries to tell us what she wants to eat but we don't always let her get her way with that because she would eat cookies all the time and sweets. We regret getting her to like sweets but what can we say? She is a Spalinger and loves her sweets.
By this time tomorrow night Steve will no longer be a Hollingsead employee. This day is a long time coming. It has been a prayer for us since Leya was born that he would find a job here in town and now God has opened that door for us. Steve told me today that he was scared when he found out that I had a flat tire and stuck on the side of the road because he couldn't come and help me out because he was in Ventura. He also told me that he was glad that we got induced and didn't wait for Sammy to come on his own because if we had and he was at work there would have been a good chance that he would have missed the entire thing with how quickly he came once he decided to drop. He would have been lucky to walk in as he was crowning.
God does answer prayers in His own time. It was said best by a Forerunner on choir tour about 8 years ago when he made reference to the Garth Brooks song "Unanswered Prayers." He said that it isn't that God doesn't answer them it is more like He says no or not yet and that is what God did when it came to Steve finding another job. He obviously had something else he wanted to teach us by keeping him at HI.
Well, it is late, the whole house is sleeping but me but this is when I get my time alone and when I get the chance to unwind from the crazy day and prepare for the day that lies ahead so off to get a few more things done and then hitting the sack myself.
